Last Thursday, a bunch of us sat around and watched the excellent Christmas special "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas". It premiered the same year I was born-1977 on the fairly new channel HBO and contains some of the best songs ever made for a Christmas special.
My favorite song from the show isn't even about Christmas. It's almost a spiritual about death. The version posted here isn't from "Emmet Otter", but from the "John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together" special made two years later.
So here's John Denver and Jerry Nelson as Kermit's nephew Robin singing Paul Williams' "When the River Meets the Sea". Merry Christmas!

It's been down the whole day. Gmail crashed for a large number of people and has continued to be a jerk and stayed that way.
